At the center of the famous fountain in Largo Rezzara, a one-meter-tall bronze figure is completely enveloped in an ethereal cloud, suspended between presence and dissolution. The material exists, but is veiled. The image exists, yet is unreachable, enclosed in a mass resembling cotton wool, without defined geometric contours, almost smoky. This milky “shell” becomes a metaphor for the hazy memory of a dream, that intermediate time when the mind tries to retain what it is beginning to forget....

The professional studio Laura Di Bella Restauro & Architettura, founded in 2011 in Bergamo, was born from the passion and vision of architect Laura Di Bella, a graduate of the Politecnico di Milano. The studio specializes in architectural restoration and sustainable design, with particular attention to the enhancement of historical heritage. Over the years, it has undertaken projects of varying scale and complexity, from delicate restorations of historic buildings to major public interventions, also standing out in national and international competitions.

“In my concept of sculpture, there is a strong desire to create works that at first glance seem like ancient remnants that have reached us,” explains Giacomo Scarpellini, born in 1997, graduated in painting from Accademia Carrara in Bergamo. In his work, he applies lost-wax casting and metal acidification techniques, creating an aged, lived effect and an impression of fragmentation and incompleteness. However, the elements composing the work—clothing and objects—bring the sculpture into contemporary times, creating a duality between past and present.
